Apple Overhauls Siri with New AI Architecture, Targets 2025 Launch

Apple is undertaking a major transformation by introducing a completely new software architecture for its virtual assistant, Siri.

According to TechRadar, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported that the overhaul was initiated by Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi.

“The work we’ve done on the full Siri redesign has delivered the results we need,” Federighi said.

The upgraded Siri, powered by more advanced AI technology, is expected to launch in 2025. Initially, Apple attempted to merge Siri’s legacy system with its newer AI capabilities, but the results fell short of expectations.

Meanwhile, Tim Cook reaffirmed Apple’s commitment to artificial intelligence, often referred to as Apple Intelligence. During a recent company-wide meeting, Cook encouraged employees to further integrate AI into their daily workflows.

“Apple will do this. This is ours to take,” Cook stated.

He also noted that while Apple is not always the first to enter a product category, it often succeeds in catching up and surpassing competitors. Cook even suggested that Apple Intelligence could eventually become more significant than smartphones, apps, and the internet itself.

In addition to AI developments, the hour-long meeting covered topics such as Apple TV+, AirPods, and regulatory challenges. Cook also hinted at a lineup of “extraordinary” upcoming products, including the possibility of a foldable iPhone.
